I first became interested in photography in 1990 when I went to Kenya on my first Safari.  I knew enough before this to know that I needed a long lens in order to capture good images of the animals I would see, and after the trip realised that I would like to learn more.  With this in mind I joined Leigh on Sea Camera Club in Essex.

In 1995 Jim joined the Camera Club and in 1998 we got together, getting married in 1999.   Our shared love of photography has taken to many places both in the Country and Abroad.    Many of our trips in the UK have been with the Photographic Group of the Camping and Caravanning Club, a group which means a lot to both of us, Jim was Chairman for a few years, followed by the job of Social Secretary, and I edited the Group’s Magazine, Photocamper, for 4 years.

After moving to Suffolk we were lucky enough to become members of  the Beyond Group.  This is a small group of Photographers who encourage each other to enter both National and International Exhibitions and to try new things with our photography.   This has resulted in me gaining my DPAGB, BPE5* and EFIAP/b.   We have now left the Beyond Group and are now members of East Ipswich Camera Club.
